You know for sure, when your car has skies and tracks instead of tires!
First, I have to say in our very short time in this area, I now hold great admiration for the hardiness of those who call North Dakota home. The winds are constant, the sky always ominous.

Secondly, 100 percent I did not pack enough warm clothes. The heat kicked on multiple times during the night and we’ve not yet begun the true ‘North to Alaska’ trek!!😳
Our stop in West Fargo was highlighted by our time at Bonanzaville, touring more than 35 historical buildings showcasing all things about the earliest ND settlers. Each building was a mini-museum in itself. I’ve highlighted a few pictures below. You can find more in the Gallery page.

Today, we are making our way west across the state and had a 10:00am tour of the Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile State Historic Site in Cooperstown, SD. Mark & I find these decommissioned missile sites fascinating. We toured the NIKE missile site in the Everglades a number of years ago.

From there we went on to Jamestown, ND, famous citizens of this town include Peggy Lee (Jazz singer & composer. Hint for my Disney friends- Lady & the Tramp) and Louis L’Amour (author of frontier fiction), but I was on a mission to find the World’s Largest Buffalo Monument!
